A One Stop Shop Needs A Diverse Team: See More About Ours

If you speak to any business, they will assure you that there is a huge combination of skill sets and expertise needed
in order to operate. This is only intensified when the business is a one stop shop, encompassing multiple professions all operating as one team!

We recently decided that it was time for us to play a little ‘get to know you’ game around the office.

It was a great opportunity for us to all collectively reflect on who we are, where we have come from, and what we are all doing together in this business.

Gary Baker

Gary is the Founder and Director of Activate Property

How Long Have You Worked At Activate Property?
“I established the business in August 2005”

What is your favourite part of your job?
“My favourite part of the job is growing the business, and seeing the staff grow. There is also a great sense of satisfaction hearing of the resulting success that comes from satisfied clients”

What is the best thing about working in a ‘one stop shop’?
“The pleasure of being able to help clients in more ways than one. Knowing that we are making it so much easier for them by only having to deal with one company”

What were you doing before you came to Activate?
“Contract work in government accounting, State Treasury , Trans Adelaide and ABC.”

What do you like to do on the weekends?
“Get down to the beach”

Donna Peters

Donna is our resident Mortgage and Finance Broker

How long have you worked at Activate Property?
“I Started working at Activate in September 2013”

What is your favourite part of your job?
“Meeting with clients and being able to help them achieve their dream, whether it is their first home, investment or finance for a car, boat, caravan! Also being able to help people get into a better position with their finances, consolidate debt and reduce repayments.”

What is the best thing about working in a ‘one stop shop’?
“Having everything for the client in one place so we can help them quickly and efficiently.”

What were you doing before you came to Activate?
“I opened a café in my church – Origin Coffee Bar at Victory Church, prior to that I have been a credit officer or broker for 13 years.”

What do you like to do on the weekends?
“Get into the outdoors, we love to go camping, fishing, swimming, the beach! We always like to take a group of friends along and enjoy doing life together!”

 

Barbara Harrison

Barbara is our Senior Property Manager

How long have you worked at Activate Property?
“I have been at Activate for just over a year now.”

What is your favourite part of your job?
“I think I get most satisfaction knowing that my role can make a small difference in owners and tenants lives, like a landlord not having to stress about looking after their property, or a tenant not having to wait unnecessarily for repairs to take place, that sort of thing.”

What is the best thing about working in a ‘one stop shop’?
“We often get owners who ask what the sales market may be doing or tenants who may be in a position to buy their own homes.  We can do all this in house so we have a lot of the information needed already.”

What were you doing before you came to Activate?
“I was working as a Property Manager in a more mainstream agency.  The workload on some Property Managers doesn’t always allow them to give the level of service that we can give at Activate which was one of the things I appreciate here.”

What do you like to do on the weekends?
“I’m a bit of a homebody so I tend to entertain at home with close friends and family.  I absolutely love spending time with my 2 year old granddaughter too.  As a treat I try to get away to York Peninsular when I can.”

 

David Ronson

David is our Property Investment Consultant

How long have you worked at Activate Property?
“I’ve been with Activate for just under a year now.”

What is your favourite part of your job?
“What I love about what I do is I get to help people achieve their personal and financial dreams every day.  We have used property investment as the vehicle to help people from all walks of life, from people looking to set themselves up for retirement to clients that are looking for extra cashflow so they can live a better lifestyle.  I believe the only way to do great work is to love what you do and I love seeing my clients create a better life.”

What is the best thing about working in a ‘one stop shop’?
“All of the services that our clients need are under the one roof so not only is it easier and more efficient, but our clients also know that the people they trust are looking after all of their needs.”

What were you doing before you came to Activate?
“I was a Property Investment Strategist at Ironfish.  This role taught me a great deal about how to create successful property investment strategies not just for my clients but for myself also.”

What do you like to do on the weekends?
“I love spending time with family and friends, going for a run or the movies (on the rare occasion we can find a babysitter!)”

 

Robyn Agius

Robyn is our Client Services Officer

How long have you worked at Activate Property?
“I joined the Activate Team mid January 2016.”

What is your favourite part of your job?
“I love helping clients achieve their goals.  I pride myself on giving outstanding customer service.”

What is the best thing about working in a ‘one stop shop’?
“The best thing is that you can look after all of your clients needs in the one place, and really add extra value to the relationships that you are building with people”

What were you doing before you came to Activate?
“I was working for a Financial Planning small business in Gawler and previous to that I was a Personal Banker for Bank SA for the last 5 years.”

What do you like to do on the weekends?
“I have 2 outrageously gorgeous children and wonderful friends who I love to spend my time socialising with.  I love to entertain and love delicious food and wine!!!
